Successful Installation at Nexen Ettrick Project

- Rental of 2 – No. 24” Pile Upending Tools
- Installation of 9 – No. 84” FPSO Mooring Piles
- Saipem UK (Sonsub Division) Ltd
- Transport from Dundee to Invergordon
- Saipem 7000
IHC Sea Steel are pleased to announce the successful completion of the 9- No, 84″ diameter piles for the Ettrick project on behalf of Nexen. The work was undertaken by Saipem using vessel “Edda Fjord” and the 125 Tonne 84″ FAST FRAME with extensions. The 84FF and 50m long piles were deployed to seabed by the “Saipem 7000″ earlier. By using this strategy a nominal sized low cost vessel was used to drive the piles on what was a particularly large mooring system. Allowing for some downtime due to weather the piles were effectively driven at more than one a day without incident.
