In
supplying the company's equipment offshore (and
as part of the services) IHC Sea Steel offers
a full geotechnical and structural engineering, design
drafting and graphics support. These services are performed
in house or with our regular partners using "State of the art" software.
Our
design and engineering department provides tailor-made
solutions to suit your special needs. The selection of
pile type and size is carried out by our geotechnical
engineers. They will carry out a review of soil conditions
at the site and also assess the type of loading conditions
likely to be applied.
The required mudmat area can
be calculated using the provided geotechnical data using our
software, therefore optimising the use of the installation
vessel. Safety factors against sliding and overturning are
1:1.5. Calculations for 2.0 and 5.0 degrees off vertical are
performed to verify safe stability.
IHC Sea Steel have
developed a reciprocal geotechnical engineering
agreement with Cathie Associates
