Design and Engineering

Our design and engineering department provides tailor made solutions to suit the individual needs of each project. An assessment of pile type and size is carried out by our geotechnical engineers and the soil information, usually provided by the client, is reviewed. IHC Sea Steel has been responsible for introducing a number of industry accepted standards for calculating stability of structures on the seabed. As a result of this hundreds of piles have been accurately installed in arduous soil and environmental conditions.

From the geotechnical information provided, a stability analysis of the Pile, Follower (if required) and Frame assembly is performed on our behalf by Cathie Associates SA/NV. From the results of this analysis, it is possible to calculate the mudmat area required on the FAST FRAME. Being able to calculate the space required by the FAST FRAME the space available on the vessel deck can be optimised.
